Job Description


  • Responsible for selling the complete VMware solution, products, and services within a list of account and projects of national importance.
  • An all-encompassing position that requires the individual to move the transaction through the entire sales cycle.
  • Solidify existing customer accounts and elevate VMware to a more strategic position within most accounts.
  • Must be able to sell VMware solution as a ‘platform’ within the assigned accounts and change the role that IT plays within that account from being considered a cost burden to a strategic deployment.
  • Manage complex sales campaigns while managing a diverse set of partners within the same accounts.
  • Match the VMware solution to the customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements.
  • Drive VMware transaction sales business in conjunction with VMware’s, solutions engineer system integrators, OEMs and channel partners.
  • Develop opportunities into working (real) funnel valued at 3-5 times expected revenue goals on an ongoing basis.
  • Match the VMware solution to the customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements.
  • Map and maintain relationships at all levels within the complete government accounts echo system – IT Heads, policy makers, consultants, advisor’s, partners and other key decision makers and influencers.
  • Work towards the long term goal of making accounts standardize on VMware solutions.

Experience Required:

  • Should have sales experience of min. 10 years for handling govt. business.
  • Should have handled software & services sales for a minimum of 6 years
  • Should have handled key large projects from Central Government such as DOP UIDAI,MHRD, Commerce, MEA ,Cert, CDAC etc. or PSU’s large project from OIL & GAS PSU’s
  • Should have been actively worked with IT consultants / OEM’s / Partners engaged with such account and projects.
  • Proven track record of success selling in a highly competitive environment (demonstrated by history of meeting and exceeding quotas)
