ATHENS (Reuters) – Greece has no longer yet obtained an invitation from Turkey to resume exploratory talks on their conflicting territorial claims in the Mediterranean but would be willing to chat about components including the continental shelf, the foreign ministry said on Monday.
The comment came after Turkish International Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Ankara changed into as soon as making an first rate provide to resume the talks, which were suspended since 2016.
“Greece has expressed its intention to acknowledge to this form of invitation from the Turkish aspect, in accordance with global regulations, on the screech of demarcation of an Peculiar Financial Zone (EEZ) and the continental shelf,” foreign ministry spokesman Alexandros Papaioannou said in a commentary.
